“Mobilize Humanity” Initiative was created…

èto shed light on the unacceptable plight of the 101 Sri Lankan and Nepalese refugees and asylum seekers first detained by the Thai immigration police in Bangkok,

èin order to mobilize the relevant authorities to find a solution that puts an end to their detention.

At present time, there are still:

77 Human Beings :

è 10 families

è 69 Sri Lankan and 8 Nepalese people

è 54 refugees and 23 asylum seekers

è 23 children including 18 aged less than 10 and 12 aged less than 6

Detained in inhuman conditions in Bangkok Immigration Detention Centre (IDC)

MOBILIZATION IS GOING ON !

4 MONTHS WITHOUT DAYLIGHT, WOULD YOU SURVIVE TO IT ?

Thushan is 4 years’ old.

He has not seen the daylight for 4 months

No sun, no sky, no tree, no bird.

Only 4 concrete walls as horizon.

If animals were kept

in such detention conditions,

NGOs and medias would denounce it.

But Thushan is only a human being,

Is that why medias and NGOs

are keeping silent?

They don’t denounce it because

they don’t know about this situation…

As another 22 children,

Thushan is currently in jail, detained by the Thai immigration police in Bangkok in inhuman conditions.

The plight suffered by these 77 human beings, refugees or asylum seekers,

detained since several months, is unacceptable

“Our children are already mentally and physically affected.

They lost weight and became weak due to the lack of adequate nutrition.

Their future is questionable as they miss the opportunity of receiving primary and secondary education.

We are pushed into terrible deprivation, and members of the same family are even denied the right to see each other.

Among the many international institutions, organizations, countries that shout out for children’ rights, won’t any of them raise their voice to protect our children too?”
